Speaking Bio:

Phil is an ordained Evangelical Minister with over 30 years of experience working in and for Pregnancy Care Ministries. In the early 1990s’ he served as one of the first full time Development Directors within the national CPC effort. In 1992 he took the Executive Director / CEO position of Pregnancy Services of Michigan; an oversight and training organization serving nearly 100 Pregnancy Care Centers throughout the Midwest.

In 1992 he founded Family Care Network which provided consulting and support services focused on a biblical approach to developing the resources necessary to build, strengthen and equip pregnancy and family related ministries. Phil networked FCN with several national ministries such as Care Net, Heartbeat International, Alternatives Group (now Life Stewards), Focus on the Family, Ramah Int’l, NIFLA, Promise Keepers, PACE, Rachel’s Vineyard, and others to train and equip hundreds of staff, volunteers, and bord members of Pregnancy Resource Organizations.

Out of his own personal experience and testimony, Phil and his wife Cindi have ministered forgiveness, healing, restoration and redemption to numerous women and men who have experienced abortion.

From 2001-2007 Phil also served as Senior Pastor of a local congregation and the CEO and GM of two Christian Radio Station & Broadcasting Ministries. Phil joined the ministry team of Blue Ridge Women’s Center in 2008 where he served as its President and CEO until 2020.

In 2012, during his tenure in Roanoke, he, along with two others, founded Lydia Women’s Center, the first ever pregnancy resource organization (PRO) in Stip, Macedonia.  He served on Lydia’s Board of Directors and as the Director of International Advancement until 2022.  He is a broadcaster, conference speaker, teacher and “spiritual life coach” with a passion for developing and equipping godly leaders.

Prior to entering full-time ministry in 1990, Phil served as Executive V.P. and CEO of American Corporate Transportation, an international transportation and logistics company. Phil has been married to Cindi since 1983 and he has 7 children: 3 sons, Phill, Austin, and Jordan and 4 daughters, Meghan, Taylor, Erin, and Shannon. He has two grandchildren, Crosby, and Sylva.

We have had a ministry relationship with Phil Holsinger since the mid 1990s. Our first and overarching impression of Phil was and remains a professional, and a servant; passionate, compassionate and humble. His attention to providing personal support and heartfelt interest in and for pregnancy care ministry serves as a benchmark of service and love for God, His church, and the many women and men we serve in pregnancy care ministry.

We (Immokalee Pregnancy Center) contacted Phil after almost 14 years to address the guests and supporters at our second banquet. We prayed and God gave us Phil’s name to contact. His presentation was very well received, in no small part, because of the spirit in which it was delivered. He offers centers like ours anointed ministry and professional excellence as well. Some of our guests commented afterwards that this was the best banquet they have ever attended.

We are grateful that Phil goes the extra mile; not only providing a moving presentation but helping “put the evening together” before the event, and leading a post-banquet consultation the following day. His counsel and suggestions were sound and well received. At his suggestion we are currently planning our first “cottage meetings” to introduce folks to Immokalee Pregnancy Centerat this writing.

We recommend Phil without reservation to others who really want to conduct their ministries in the spirit of Christ.

I have known Phil Holsinger for several years.  He is not your typical Protestant pro-life leader.  By that I mean that he is not anti-Catholic, and therefore does not rail against Humanae Vitae.  In fact, Mr. Holsinger has genuine admiration for the Catholic defense of the culture of life, on issues ranging from abortion to euthanasia, condoms to artificial contraception.

I can assure you that he would be an excellent speaker at Catholic venues.  To my mind, he represents the best of a rising cadre of Protestant leaders who genuinely seek orthodox (small “o”) Protestant-Catholic rapprochement not merely for utilitarian purposes but on sound theological and moral grounds.

Many men of the Bible were called by our great God for acts of obedience – Abraham, David, Noah, Job, Paul, Moses & Joshua, to name a few. Ordinary men asked to do extraordinary things, for extraordinary results in God’s kingdom. God’s requests seemed unreasonable, so to gain their attention, God blinded, struck down, took everything away and performed miracles. Even so, some would testify they were incompetent, they were inadequate, they were unqualified, or had unworthy backgrounds.  But these men were obedient and everything about their lives and theology changed with God’s blessing.

God does no less in our time and calls men close. I have witnessed such a man. A man of submission to the Lord, a humble man, a persevering man, a courageous man for our times and a man after the very heart of God – Rev. Phil Holsinger.

No convincing, cajoling, begging, pleading or “sales pitch” is needed when Phil is presented with an opportunity to share his personal testimony about what God has done in his life and what God can do in the lives of men all across the nation who have experienced abortion. There is an unexpected resounding “yes, I’ll do it!”

At AbbaCare’s recent fall fundraising reception we had a wonderful, dynamic, international female speaker. But it was Phil Holsinger who overwhelmingly stirred the hearts of the nearly 500 attendees. Phil connected with the audience on a level and with such a passionate message about the love and forgiveness of our Lord as to make it memorable and effective in his calling men forth. Moments after the event, many people came to me telling how excellent, truthful and powerful Phil words were, and I continue to receive telephone calls, e-mails and visits from people.

As a result, over 84 men have contacted AbbaCare to participate in  planning, mentoring and teaching for our new “No Man Left Behind” program. What an incredible sight it is for women to see men step up – and to catch a glimpse of the magnificent things God is going to do through them here at AbbaCare.

I urge you to get to know and hear Phil Holsinger – God is lighting his path to “rock our world”.

Serving those who serve,

Bonnie Johnson

Executive Director

It is a privilege to recommend Phil Holsinger to you. Phil is a man who is passionate about the gospel and it’s power to bring redemption and restoration in the lives of those who have experienced the confusion and fear of an unplanned pregnancy. He personally knows the pain and loss of aborting a child and the healing balm that only Christ can provide. In the short time he has been in the Roanoke Valley he has become a friend and co-laborer for the cause of Christ here.

At our recent banquet he was not the keynote speaker but shared a few words about the ministry of the center. I found his words to be a greater blessing to my soul than the guest speaker. Phil’s passion for seeing the gospel redeem everyone in an unplanned pregnancy – child, mother and father – is infectious and a great expansion of what it means to truly be ‘pro-life’.

I pray the Lord richly blesses your event and look forward to hearing how God used Phil’s message to accomplish His purposes.

Sincerely,

Rev. Ed Dunnington

Pastor, Christ the King Presbyterian Church

I served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Blue Ridge Women’s Center in Roanoke, VA from January 2014-Januaru 2020 and I served as a director in 2012 and 2013. It was a privilege to have a part in this ministry’s growth over those 8 years.

Blue Ridge Women’s Center was founded in 1986 and by 2012 had become a mainstay in the Roanoke community serving 200-250 new clients every year. Phil Holsinger joined the staff as President and CEO in February of 2008 during the toughest financial crisis in the US since the great depression.  Phil’s business experience in the world of international transportation, broadcasting and ministry leadership, along with his astute business acumen, and management approach kept the ministry afloat as he began an intensive campaign to grow our support base for the future.

At that time Phil also launched a major public and community relations plan to invite anyone and everyone to come and receive a tour of the facility, listen to the staff and volunteers relate their experiences, and meet women, babies and men that had been served. The purpose of this approach was to equip as many people as possible to be ambassadors for “who we are, what we do, why we do it, and the results of God’s heart.” To date over 5000 men, women, and young people have toured our facility.

When Phil arrived in 2008, Blue Ridge Women’s Center had already made the transition from a counseling effort to a medical clinic that offered limited ultrasound exams to verify pregnancy. In those early days our impact needed to be professionalized and grown. Today, thanks to Phil’s insight and direction, our medical clinic provides medical services under the oversight and direction of one of the premier pro-life obstetrical physicians in our community and it is managed by a nurse manager that recently became a certified RDMS to provide training in obstetrical ultrasound to the nurses that volunteer at our facility. Our clinic boasts two (2) ultrasound exam rooms as well as a recent portable ultrasound that is utilized by the community outreach team that Phil initiated to provide pregnancy testing to a free clinic in our community. Our current medical services include pregnancy testing, ultra-sound verification of pregnancy, pre-natal care, limited STI/STD testing, and Abortion Pill Reversal services through our Medical Director.

Client services have also expanded significantly because of Phil’s attention to the needs of those we serve. In the last 2 years alone, Blue Ridge Women’s Center has implemented a long term mentoring effort to clients that would like to discover a “new normal” and change their lives through both a personal encounter with Jesus and a long term discipling relationship with a trained coach. The effort is called “Do life with me” and is open to any client/patient that is desirous of that very personalized assistance.

For the last 6 years, Phil has been building a strategic partnership with Life Perspectives, an organization based in San Diego, CA. Their efforts to care for the woman and man who has experienced abortion as well as other types of reproductive loss (miscarriage, still birth, infertility, and SIDS) have grown to include training medical personnel, licensed counselors, social workers, clergy, and pregnancy center counselors. In 2019 Blue Ridge Women’s Center invested heavily in the training and certification of its first Reproductive Loss Coordinator that will guide the Blue Ridge Women’s Center Staff as well as provide training and certification to health care and counseling professionals in our community.  This individual will also provide training to other pregnancy resource personnel throughout Virginia.

Phil’s pregnancy center and non-profit expertise is in the arena of “the delicate art of relational resource development.” His methodology is extremely effective and simple to implement. The process includes introducing new people to the results in lives changed. Over time this engages the individual and their emotions in initial support of the ministry. The next step is to engage the supporter’s rational understanding of what the ministry does.  The third step is to help the supporter engage in the actual effort and encouraged them to make a long-term commitment to it.

Blue Ridge Women’s Center’s annual Baby Bottle Campaign is an introductory effort that allows individuals the opportunity to find out more and support in a simple and easy way. In 2012, our Baby Bottle campaign consisted of 10 churches that raised under $14,000. Today it engages 100 churches and raises $100,000 annually. Our Walk for Life event is all about getting our constituents to engage their community and invite them to support us.

Phil’s formula for our Annual Fundraising Banquet is different than most pregnancy center banquets. We do not utilize big name keynote speakers to drive our attendance. Instead, Phil has always creatively produced and directed a program that is engaging and focuses on the Blue Ridge Women’s Center experience in changing lives. The financial result of this effort speaks for itself.

In 2008, Blue Ridge Women’s Center’s Roanoke office operational budget was around $200,000. Last year, 2019, the operational budget for Blue Ridge Women’s Center had grown to $650,000.  We employed 11 staff members and we utilized over 40 regular volunteers operationally. This excludes the dozens of volunteers that help us conduct our events and community outreach.

But I would like you to know that every year from 2012 thru 2019 Blue Ridge Women’s Center had operational surplus dollars at the end of each year. In 2019 that surplus was nearly $60,000. I believe Phil’s ability to grow our constituents, engage them long term, and encouraging them to see themselves as ministry participants has been instrumental to those results.

Phil will be the first to tell you that the entire approach is a team effort. It takes very talented, gifted, and capable team members to accomplish the success that Blue Ridge Women’s Center has experienced. But Phil has been the consummate coach and has created a culture of honor for this team.  He sets forth the game plan and vision then equips and releases each team member to creatively play out their role effectively and professionally.

I have spent a lot of time in prayer and discussion with Phil and have also tried to be available to the staff and volunteers over the last 8 years. They really are a remarkable group of people with an amazing heart for the women and men we serve. Phil has always been grace filled in his dealing with the staff and volunteers. There have been times when my recommendation was to terminate an employee or release a volunteer, but Phil has always been very slow to take an action like that. He has always wanted to leave room for grace to work.

I have been privileged to serve with Phil since 2012 and I count him as a friend as well as brother. I am saddened at his departure yet grateful for the mark he has left. He will be missed.

Billy Webb,

Chairman of the Board, Blue Ridge Women's Center
